cathyy
My husband and I are retiring to Thailand very soon. His company is offering him a lump sum payment to waive his retiree health benefits -some of the best benefits in the US, I might add. The lump sum is substantial, but not enough to cover the cost of something like a pacemake insertion in the US. So if we were dependent in Thailand on Thai private health insurance, how good is it? Do you pay cash to the hospital and get reimbursed by the insurance company? Or does the insurance pay the hospital bill directly? And how much would a good health insurance plan cost for two fat 55 year old farangs? What type of things are not covered? What type of things are?
