Sukhumvit Road is not exactly representative of Thailand. That would be like thinking Pattaya was the real Thailand. I beg to disagree with Malthus101. Those vendors are not selling things to children. Unfortunately, most of the children that you might see wandering about this area are children of tourists themselves. The sad thing is that those foreign children will think that the whole of Thailand is like this and It's Okey. It is not! Not even for Thais.

I live in the neighborhood so cannot avoid. I am not a prude, I jut have a moral compass. Perhaps you don't. There is a difference between a phallus as a fertility symbol and a dildo. Mr. RealDeal - I moved into the area because it is where my children go to school. It is not exactly skid row Sunshine, unless you hadn't noticed. If you look past Soi Cowbow, the Nana Cultural Centre and other landmarks with which you may be familiar you will see loads of 5 star hotels, good restaurants and shopping. You might also notice quite a lot of resident families and familes holidaying. Hardly skid row. As a resident I feel entitled to have an opinion about the neighborhood in which I live. You may not have noticed but neighborhoods also evolve over time. This is precisly what is happening to the Sukhumvit area. Like it or not. But apparently you subscibe to the FIFO philosophy widely espoused on this forum. In other words FIT IN Or F@34k Off - nice one. Well, I don't. Have a nice day.

Gotta love irony sunshine. Actually my name is Johnson, no really it is. And AC was a distant relative on my Mother's side. The family feel that he was greatly misunderstood and regarded himself as a Robin Hood type of figure. His philanthropy is little known outside of his immediate neighborhood and family. He was a keen Rotarian and donated large sums to his local church. Every Thanksgiving he doled out turkeys from the back of a truck, gave candy to children and recycled clothes to an orphanage. All little known facts about the man which I am happy to share.

Seriously, I haven't paid attention in the past, but I walked from Soi 5 to Asoke all the time and I haven't seen any dildos, are you talking about the plastic, vibrating ones? or Thai wood carving, which, technically, isn't a dildo. I've seen some bongs and smoking paraphernalia, maybe some of the Johnsons shaped bong maybe... but never a tray full of throbbing, vibrating dildo or even plain vibrator of any sort. (cause I wouldn't mind to find some, sure beats mail order or ferrying them from back home in a suitcase, which could be all kinds of trouble at the customs)
