Thunderstorms, cooler temperatures relieve heat on Thailand's election day

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's Meteorological Department forecast thundershowers for Sunday afternoon and evening countrywide .

Southerly winds are prevailing in the upper part of the country. The usual hot weather of the season is expected to be relieved by thunderstorms which are expected in the afternoon and evening in the

kingdom's northern, northeastern, eastern and central regions while scattered thundershowers will hit the south.

Scattered thundershowers were forecast in Bangkok and surrounding areas Sunday until Monday morning.

The maximum temperature is 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temparature is 25 degrees Celsius.

In the north, scattered thundershowers were predicted in Phitsanulok and Phetchabun provinces with maximum temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius.

In the Northeast, Nakhon Ratchasima, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani are expected to face thundershowers with the maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius.

Waves of about one metre can be seen in the Gulf of Thailand in the eastern and southern coasts. Skies will be mostly cloudy with widespread thunderstorms.
