BAAC poll reveals that the happiness index of Thai farmers have increased

BANGKOK, (NNT) – The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives (BAAC) revealed the results of its poll stating that the happiness index of Thai farmers have increased to 89% in June 2013 from 76% in January 2013.

The poll showed that farmers in the northeastern region have the highest happiness index in Thailand. The results were based on the “Thai Farmers’ Happiness Index” questionnaires answered by 2,448 farmers at random all over the country.

According to the poll, Thai farmers were happiest in 3 aspects including housing and environment, health and work.

Farmers also said they were quite happy in terms of social, education and economic aspects. The poll showed the level of happiness among farmers had risen to 89% compared to the 76% recorded in the last poll conducted in January 2013.

As to the question of farmers’ expectations from the BAAC, the poll showed farmers wanted loan support to enable them to build a stable career, followed by assistance to have supplementary occupations and incomes.

The BAAC expects a 4.6% growth in the agricultural economy in the second half of this year and a 4% growth rate for the whole year due to the increase in farm produce.

This is a group who lacked the manpower/resources to monitor the ongoing rice scam, to the point that they estimated the storage facilities at 1900 when 2900 were being paid. They must have shared some of the happy juice they drink, with the respondents to their nation wide farmers survey.

Carry out the policy of raising the tax on alcohol and see how happy they are.

If the government thinks the farmers got their drawers in a knot by proposing a reduction in the rice pledging scam they ain't seen nothing yet if they raise tax on Lao Khao.

Does this include the RUBBER farmers ??? if it says it was a nationwide poll, could it tell us what villages were polled, and were they of crimson colour. What a load of cods, if they get paid for these I want to carry out a survey.

That's interesting. When the farmers around where I live receive something like this they use it to light fires.

Sounds like a desperate attempt for a failing plan by the less than bright PTPredsjirts/

Ask them that question when the BAAC runs out of account holders money when this government doesn't pay back what it owes on the rice scheme?

The government will merely raise BAAC's borrowing-limits yet-again, and claim that everything's OK, with their own finances !

Maybe it is true and the answer to why did the happiness index of farmers increased was just one click away:

"Police yesterday afternoon raided a property in Patong, on Phuket's west coast, and cut down about 20 kratom trees."
