Suspicious claims of money theft from Chinese Tour Bus on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA:--Pattaya Police and Tourist Police were called to a parked Tour Bus on Pattaya Beach in front of Soi 9 in the early hours of Friday to assist a Tour Guide who claimed 200,000 Baht in cash had been stolen from his back-pack.

The suspected theft is thought to have taken place on the bus itself so Police search the bus and every Chinese Tourist present but could not find the money which Khun Ajin claimed had been stolen.

41 Chinese Tourists had just been picked up from the Bali Hai Port after they spent the day on Larn Island but on the way back to their Hotel the guide claimed the money had gone and ordered the bus driver to pull-up outside Pattaya Police Station.

Another guide on the bus, Khun Nuchanart aged 25, told her colleague to report the incident at Pattaya Police Station

Does rather beg the question, 'what was a tour guide doing with 200k Baht on a parked bus in the early hours?'

It would certainly be well in excess of one day's tour takings. A month's worth?

41 tourists. 5k a head.

If renting a large tour bus is part of the deal than it may well have been a one or two day package. Probably a one day package for those on a 2 week package holiday.
