banglay
Hello All. I am looking to buy a Home Multi Gym and was wondering where is the best place to buy one from in this area and a rough idea of the cost..... Thanks in anticipation
JSixpack
Not sure about cost, let's say they start at B20,000, off the top o' me head. Big C used to have some relatively cheap ones. But you get what you pay for. Next stop would be Super Sport at Central Festival. And there's a gym equipment shop at the south corner of North Pattaya Rd and Sukhumvit. And another, a Marathon equipment shop, a few blocks north of the above shop on the other side of Sukhumvit. That's all I know.
xen
There is a multi gym at the gym in our apartments. It comes from Big C. It is too small for me and i am only 6 foot fall . So try before you buy.
Longtooth
It really bothers me that I was able to buy a multi-gym in California,10 years ago, at K-mart, for $199. True. Same exact machine that Big C and others have. Just slightly different stickers on it. Made in China, same. They want up to 24,000 baht. $760 ???? This is a big profit item that has price-fixing written all over it. (Not the stickers.)
MickA
"And there's a gym equipment shop at the south corner of North Pattaya Rd and Sukhumvit." I bought a second hand one in there about 7 years ago cost 25k

Longtooth
So anyway, be sure to check the classifieds. Should be some good used equipment out there.
JSixpack
If you're just looking for cheap & convenient home/apt fitness--all you really need--consider a TRX-type suspension trainer. (Pay no attn to sneers from our resident gym rats.) I use one and love it--after I've used gyms regularly for over 30 years. I don't look like a bodybuilder (never could, lack the genes) but I am in quite good shape and look it as well. I think there are some TRX trainers for sale in the classifieds section. Amazon has knock offs for as low as USD32. I made my own for about B500 from rope & a bit of hardware from a local shop. Intro here: Lots of examples: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=trx&oq=trx&gs_l=youtube.3..0l10.3081.5349.0.11183.5.5.0.0.0.0.249.752.1j3j1.5.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.wzH0lza2XTs DIY: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=diy+homemade+suspension+trainer&oq=diy+homemade+suspension+trainer&gs_l=youtube.3...631917.645858.0.646171.33.29.0.4.4.0.298.4312.9j13j7.29.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.k1rmgNzKDSk I just mention these because many people don't know about them. I spent a few weeks getting used to mine--took me back to freshman gymnastics class, it did, and that was a long, long time ago! Happy workouts.

thailandbeachisland
I do not believe that anyone will train long term on cheap equipment as what is proposed here. The only way to go is to spend thousands $
JSixpack
I do not believe that anyone will train long term on cheap equipment as what is proposed here. The only way to go is to spend thousands $ You go right ahead, pal. I guess you're just a troll, posting such nonsense. Actually one doesn't need any equipment to get in quite good shape. Chinup bar maybe. Why waste money? Bodyweight exercises will work just fine and in most cases are easier on your joints. mgjackson69
Is it the forum where cheap charlies know everything better when they are online with their fat hidden behind their screen ? Ok, no problem, I gave up trying to help anyone long time ago, as it seems that most know everything already ! Enjoy your perfect knowledge and life ! The OP's post was an inquiry about where to buy a particular piece of fitness equipment. It was not a discussion about whether people would use said gear long-term.And how would your negative comment be construed as any sort of help? It seems you are the know-it-all here. thailandbeachisland
Not the know all, but compared to many I know what I am talking about or I don't talk... And yes, it can be useful to avoid that the OP buy 20000 shxt that some of the well informed people here try to advise... banglay
If a home multi gym is usually only used by one person so why buy a mega expensive unit ?? yes if it was going to used in a paying public environment Yes a state of the art unit would be cost effective ... And yes I was only asking for helpful advise thanks for those who it applies too
