O visa and applying in UK

Featured Replies

i have a couple of questions about applying for a o visa in the Uk!

I am currently living and working in America and hold a America passport as well as a British one! I will be leaving here next year and going to Join my wife who is a Thai National !

I will go to the UK and stay for a few months before I go to Thailand and will apply for my " O visa there! I am in my early 60's and was wondering if I have to show any money in my bank in the UK when I apply for the " O " Visa? also will a single ticket be ok to book to Thailand ? maybe an obvious question but still need to ask!

After reading all on Thai visa it seems like the best way would be the "O" route and then change it in Thailand with the money conditions in a bank account! whats the best one to get a single entry or a multiple , I would leaving the country for a few weeks in the first few months!

Thanks for your help!

Stephen!

a lot depends on exactly where you apply and if you apply for a single or multiple entry non-O. if you regularly plan to travel outside the country, a multiple is in order but you might be required to show financials before it is issued.

requirement is either money in the bank or an income.

With a visa you can travel to Thailand on a one-way ticket.

You should apply for your non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai. At this time it is difficult to get it in the UK if you apply for it based upon retirement.
