Retirment Visa from Savannaket finance requirements

Featured Replies

I will be coming in May to thialand to live there. Can I get a retirement visa from a place like Savannaket and will they ask for financial documents when I apply for a retirement visa.

There is no retirement visa. There are non-o or OA visas.

You could possibly get a single entry non-o visa in Savannakhet they will not do a multiple entry visa for being 50 or over for retirement.

You could get an extension of stay at immigration here based upon retirement.

ubonjoe,

It would be a non-o visa for retirement me being over 50. Would I need to shows funds like my S.S. funds from the US with other funds in a thai bank if I should try and get one at Savannaket??.

As I wrote you will not get any thing more than a single entry non-o visa in Savannakhet that will give one 90 day entry.

If you want a multiple entry non-o visa that would give you 90 day entries for one year you would have to get it from one of the honorary consulates in the States.

You can get an extension of stay at immigration by showing 800k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or 65K baht income proven by way of an income affidavit obtained from the embassy or a combination of the money in bank and annual income equal to a total of 800k baht.

Embassy affidavit for monthly income, copy of bank statement showing the 65,000 Baht equivalent going into an account, copy of lease if renting. plus passport copies.

Most offices do not ask for back up proof of income going into a bank. Only a very few now ask for it.

Also not all offices ask for a rental agreement.
