This is a child threatening to continue he tantrums unless he gets his way. I think it is time that we recognized that Thailand is basically a failed state being fought over by different factions. Since WW II the changes in government, coups, etc. have never brought about a stable democracy and are unlikely to do so in the near future. Every time there has been a coup is it because one faction or another is hungary for the top spot and all the benefits that go with it and has gone too far to destabilize things in the view of the military. Past governments, even if they had the notion, have failed to bring about change because of the graft and corruption. The only thing that makes Thailand a "modern" state in the sense that they are in the 21st Century is the fact that it avoided having a large communist insurgency and being drawing into the Vietnam era problems of its neighbors. It also benefitted from the economic engine of a large US military presence during the war. Millions of dollars were poured into Thailand. Economic growth from that era continued and business opportunities from foreign investment was considerable. What Thailand has been able to do is avoid a civil war because the Thai military has its own agenda and benefits from its own corrupt practices. I can liken this to Egypt's military. Beneath all the superficial political gyrations, the military controls things and just lets the politicians have their way as long as things don't get too far out of hand and threaten their position. Wasn't this one of the reasons for the coup against Thaksin in 2006? When has the civilian government ever really controlled the military. Even now when the elected government was threatened and the demonstrators were causing disruption of government services and work the military stated they would not step in. Seems to me that if I had generals giving press conferences about the political situations, I would be firing some of them, but in Thailand they are a separate branch of government. Yingluck is the Prime Minister and Defense Minister and she has to walk on egg shells because the military is the actual power in the nation. The minute Thailand gets a functioning government where the political parties work together, the military will have to be concerned. The military likes the control they have over the government and politics.

Following this guy is a road to nowhere, and if the anti Government protesters are really serious about resolving the country`s political problems, than they should get themselves a new leader, someone who thinks like an adult and is able to get all those concerned around the negotiating table and can start getting down to the real business of resolving these disputes.

I wouldn't say a degree is worthless it proves who ever has obtained a degree is capable of learning , just like you can train monkeys , dogs etc and I don't mean this to sound derogatory to some one who has a degree but it doesn't always mean they are up to scratch with normal everyday situations. Also just because someone hasn't studied and obtained a qualification it doesn't mean they're not intelligent
