cloudhopper Posted May 28, 2014 Author Share Posted May 28, 2014 It looks like a rainbow encircling the sun. This one had the biggest diameter I've ever seen. The smaller grey ones around the moon are far more common, but they are both caused by high altitude ice crystals that don't form easily in the tropics I guess. That's a nice shot of an Iridescent cloud! I saw some a couple years ago over the Doi Suthep hills but only had my cell phone camera so it didn't come out as well as yours.
