Phuket province arranges World No Tobacco Day event

PHUKET, 31 May 2014 (NNT) -The Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut, in cooperation with Phuket Health Office and Mission hospital has presided at the World No Tobacco Day opening ceremony at Big C Department Store, Phuket province.

The WHO has declared every 31st May, World No Tobacco Day. This year's campaign is “Raise Tax on Tobacco” in order to motivate smokers to break the habit because of cost as well as the health issues. Phuket people should also lend a hand in cooperating to make Phuket a non-smoking city. By way of example, smoking should be permitted only in designated areas and there needs to be a prohibition on selling cigarettes to youth under 18 years of age.

Many activities are held as a part of World No Tobacco Day on the 31st May 2014 at the Big C Department Store, Phuket.
