PATTAYA: -- In a raid led by the Deputy Commissioner of Region 2 Police, a raid of a shop in East Pattaya took place on Thursday afternoon which uncovered an underground lottery and an illegal money lending business.

Both unlawful operations were being run from a Rice & Gas Shop in Soi Neun Plub Wan, owned by Khun Wassana aged 51 who was arrested after she admitted responsibility for the underground lottery and money lending business which have a combined estimated value of 1.4 Million Baht.

Is it a coincidence?

It seems since the military removed the Pattaya police chief there does seem to have been a more positive approach to poling in the city and its adjacent areas.

This action seems to be reflected on a national basis as well, perhaps the shackles have been removed from the police so as they are able to act as part time law enforcers instead of full time unofficial ''toll'' collectors.whistling.gif

Nuh - a copper's missus probably managed to pick three up and down and got stiffed on the 28K Baht payout.

Seems like tossing tadpoles to the piranhas while the big whales swim away.
