Limbo
Dr. Sutravit, the chief of the eye-department of the Regional Hospital, has a private practice. He is fluent in English. You take from the main street (Paholyotin Road, opposite Da Vinci Italian Restaurant) the street to the busstation. You pass the busstation and fifty meters further, just before the corner with the closed cinema Rama II he has his practice at the left side. Open during the evenings I suppose. Many Thai acquaintances favor the shop at Pratu Chiang Mai, which you reach by crossing one of these funny bridges over the 'moat' of Chiang Rai. Coming from the Lek House you cross the Rayotha Road at the traffic light (direction Condotel) and it is after twenty meters at your left. Good and cheap, as I am told. Then you have the eye hospital at the Super Highway, about fourhundred meters south from Hi Yek. At the left side going south. A big building with a lot of green colour. I think it is the next soi after the soi of Northern Farm. I have no information about this one. Good luck, see you! Limbo

Thanks If you come from Yet Yod, pass the Clocktower (or what it is called for the moment), at the trafficlight take left. 100 - 150 m on the right side of this road there is a good optrician. He speaks english, he knows what he is doing and prices are low.

Paul Hancock
any recommendation for a eye specialist, englishspeaking and reasonable prices? (just for a check and maybe glasses) thank's, khun peter Khun Peter I have just had my eyes tested and ordered some (eye) glasses from "Beautiful Optical" across Panholyatin Road from the Night Bazaar. They may not be the cheapest in town (go to Thanalai road, behind the fresh fruit market for that), but they speak English and the prices are around 25% of those in London..... House number is 869/32-33, tel: 053 732133

Whether you buy glasses or not, up to you.
