How easy to change visas?

Recommended Posts

I may be offered a teaching job which I may take. But I may not like it and decide to quit.

How much hassle is it to switch from a working visa to a tourist?

I would like to stay in Thailand 6 months minimum.

If not really interested in teaching then tourist visa is a better option.

Don't hurt the children.

A permission to stay on entry on tourist visa is fixed.

Permission to stay from working ends immediately if you quit.

Big risk if you are not really interested in teaching and already thinking about quitting.

Have you taught before?

Probably not worth the risk.

Visa are not switched.

If you are in country with non-imm 'B' visa (what you call work visa), and quit working within the 90 days it allows you to stay in country, you can legally remain until the "allowed until" date.

If you are on extension of stay, as mentioned above, you will have to cancel extension and leave country immediately or within a 7-days extension that cost Bt 1,900.

It very common for people to obtain the visa of all types in Laos.
