South Korea Christians cancel border Christmas tree plan

(BBC) A South Korean Christian group has cancelled plans to erect a Christmas-tree shaped tower close to the border with the North.

The Christian Council of Korea (CCK) said their aim was peaceful, but had led to fears of "inter-Korean tension".

The CCK had a 60ft (18m) tree tower near the border for several years, but it was dismantled in October by the army, which said it was unstable.

The North, which is officially atheist, views the tower as propaganda warfare.

It had in the past threatened to shell it.

CCK had said the new smaller "tree" would be 30ft (9m) tall and lit for two weeks starting 23 December to promote peace.

But North Korea said the group would be held responsible for the "catastrophic impact" if it went ahead with the plans

The North Koreans have become the center of the world...dictating to the US the movies they are allowed to watch...hacking into US computer systems and exposing emails...threats to others if they do not give-in to the great Pork-sausage leader and do his bidding...they are feeling so full of themselves at the moment...all that money put into missiles and rockets...as the population is living at near starvation...has begun to pay dividends...they should be so proud...

Agree that north korea is the nightmare state, but who isnt wasting a sh*t load of money on military? And how do you know they hacked sony, because the US told you?
