webfact
Subway train waiting time will be longer after rush hoursBANGKOK: -- Passengers using subway train services after rush hours will have to wait longer than their normal waiting time after the Bangkok Metro Plc quietly delayed the train departure and arrival time between stations. The adjustment of the departure time from 3.5-minute intervals to 7-minute interval was put into effect today on a trial basi. The time adjustment was not officially informed in advance to the public but merely a signboard was displayed at each station of the time change. The change without notice caused hundreds of stranded commuters to start complaining what happened to the service as they have to wait almost half an hour at each station. Many rang up traffic radio like JS 100 inquiring of the delay with no explanation by the BMCL at each station. One commuter said she waited over half an hour but didn’t get any explanation.Contacted by JS 100, a company’s spokesman admitted of its train departure time adjustment which started today. He said the time adjustment was put into effect after rush hour or from 9 am to 4 pm when there were less passengers during these hours. He said the departure interval was adjusted from 3.5-minute interval to 7-minute interval between stations. He said this change would cause only 10 minutes late at each station from normal time not as long as half an hour.He said the time change was tested at 1.30-2.00 pm today , but now everything was back to normal. He said BMCL intended to enforce the new new departure time interval from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm when the period had less passengers.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/subway-train-waiting-time-will-longer-rush-hours -- Thai PBS 2015-01-
