sometime
Hi Got a condo booked for family, just recieved an email form the rental place, saying they were just informed today from the revenue department that the government now requires to charge 7% VAT TAX at time of check in. So it looks like anyone who rents a condo out they will be looking for their 7% share. Edited February 7, 2015 by sometime
william-pad
You have to be registered for VAT before you can ask for it, Your Rental Co will have a VAT registration Number?

I think the condo owner has decided to increase your rental price by 7% and the revenue department is a convent excuse.
KittenKong
I think the condo owner has decided to increase your rental price by 7% and the revenue department is a convent excuse. Or, even more likely, it's just a scam by the rental agency to increase their commission and the owner doesn't even know it's happening. The scams here are just endless and property is an easy target.

Langsuan Man
At least they told you before hand, so you can now cancel if you don't want to pay it Would have been a PITA if you had learned this at check in

This is a very specific document which has the company info including their tax id number. If they produce it its legit if not they're full of s$%t .. ToddinChonburi
First how did you book, should have been included in the final price. Really do not believe that this is real . I think someone is taking advantage of there fine position in the office.
falang07
VAT is paid by businesses only (not by private condo owners renting them out). If you use a management company to rent it out, however, this might be legit.
