Cashew nuts

Recommended Posts

We have a farm in Kabin Buri where we have a 25 Rai patch with Cashew Nut trees on it. I just wanted to write-in and WARN you about a potentially LETHAL matter: when peeling the cashew-seeds (nuts) out of their "jackets", there will be some wet-stuff (juice) apparent. Please make sure that there is no contact between this 'juicy matter' and any children, because this 'juice' is highly toxic - and can even cause death in a small person, okay ?

Good luck with the roasting

this 'juice' is highly toxic

The juice is not (to the best of my knowledge) toxic. It is, however, highly caustic and will burn skin if it comes into contact. Definitely wear gloves and goggles when peeling.

i dont know anything about this, but i have eaten what appears to be not roasted not salted cashews often. (and they were good toosmile.png )

They could have been boiled, they need to be roasted or boiled so they are safe to eat.

regards worgeordie
