chiangrai Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Hi, My Tixati torrent program won't download. It will pick up the torrent but won''t download it. I use Firefox with windows 8.1. I tried it on Chrome but no joy. I uninstalled the whole program and re downloaded and installed it but still no change. I have been using it for months with no problem. But now it just shos the torrent, I've been getting some warnings lately that I'm entering an unsecure site when I use Youtube or some site that I use all the time without getting these warnings,if that may have something to do with it. So any sugestions before I change to uTorrent...........
RichCor Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I would suggest trying the same torrent feeds with uTorrent, just to see if they work, and your P2P network connection is viable. Any new software added, updated, or system changes since the last time you successfully used your other Torrent App?
chiangrai Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 Hi Richcor, I've tried uTorent and thats doinging the same thing. It's saying "conecting to peers" and can't conect to peers. I have windows automatic updates turned on so I presume they have been making changes since the last time I was downloading torrents.
RichCor Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Sounds like 'something' is blocking ports necessary for P2P communications, as both programs are affected. Could be PC Security Suite / Firewall, Router issues, or the ISP blocking port function. FIRST, try power-cycling your Internet Modem/Router/Wifi (sometimes they get thrown out of kilter and need to be restarted. (If no power switch, unplug, count to TEN, plug back in). If that doesn't fix it, then you'll have to dig deeper and isolate exactly where the blocking is occurring (PC Security Suite, Firewall, Router, or your ISP). If you're on a PRIVATE LAN (not Public WiFi or Mobile Internet) you could try disabling the PC Firewall for a few seconds and see if the app connects (and the issue is there). With routers, check if UPnP is enabled, or that any ports you manually opened and forwarded are still there. Trying to connect to Torrent Network with another device (PC or Mobile device) could also isolate if the issue is PC or Router/ISP based. Could also try connecting over a VPN (to bypass possible ISP blocking) Lastly, if the ISP, you would need to call and ask them not to block.
katana Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Try temporarily disabling your firewall to see if that's the problem.
ardsong Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Hi, all yesterday my tixati was also very slow, but workiong. I swooped same torrent on BitTorrent and that worked very much faster. Just now trying with BitTorrent 7.9.2. . american idol S14E21That is working fine, not too fast but it goes.
chiangrai Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 So,about half an our after my last post uTorrent started working and Tixati is still dead.It says it's downloading but it's not. I didn't do anything except turn off the router for a few minutes. I think I'll leave well enough alone for now and uninstall Tixati. Thanks for your help.
