Mahseer
Elephant training centre Chiang Dai has both. The rafting is way overpriced at 1,400baht for the 4km drift but might be more interesting with the river in flood but 2 days ago it was mghtily low but still possible. No idea on elephant cost. Centre is 20kms before Chiang Dao and around 5kms from the police checkpoint.
MaeJoMTB
Mr. Ton does a trek + elephant + rafting at about 2,000bht. Many other guides doing similar trips.
slapout
give the elephants a rest and go treking rafting, bird watching/trapping, flower photo, visit remote villages, etc.. they have about gotten the elephant5 to a zombia like trance, until they get up set then they can put some hurt on things band people. they are bbeautiful to watch from a distance but these animals were not meant to be human transport animals. and certaunly not meant to be chained to a tree isolated from family. too many accideants reported this past year involving elephants, in my opinion
chingmai331
Just saw a news headline that an African country, Tanzania?, has just sent 27 young elephants from that country to China. What a travesty. The Chinese will suck up every ivory stick in Africa, every rhino horn, every bird in the sky, every fish in the sea to satisfy their wants. Agree. Keep away from elephants, tigers, bears and other captives serving no valuable purpose.
