Was this restaurant part of a hotel by any chance, I believe there might be some little known exception for hotels ? Even the 'mon and pop' store near to me received the notice from the police on Wednesday - strictly no alcohol from midnight Wednesday night for 48 hours. This guy summarises what's going on pretty well : http://www.richardbarrow.com/2015/07/48-hour-alcohol-ban-in-thailand-from-30-31-july-2015/ The penalty is a 10,000 Baht fine and / or 6 months in prison so sure you can sell alcohol if you want to, everything's optional but there might be a penalty. dukeandduke Posted July 31, 2015 Share Posted July 31, 2015 I wasn't at a hotel. I was on Koh Larn, where everybody was serving. I assume that was a no-risk decision.
