Alcohol to be banned from sale in Thailand

Featured Replies

How many of you would reconsider your stay in Thailand if the fact I made up this morning about the ban on sale of alcohol in Thailand.

Would most of you see Thailand losing its appeal?

Perhaps it would keep out many of the overweight sex pest tourists I see waddling around the place.

Wouldn't bother me as I don't drink, but it will never happen.

No impact on me, don't drink. No hotels or bars in our town of about 7000, life seems to go on ok.

Some restaurants are dry also, but generally happy to send someone off for a beer of your choice.

Never found out the history, or reason it's almost a dry area; shops and 7/11 etc sell alcohol, but with bans on drinking in public, for home consumption.

Rural Chanthaburi, in case you wondered.
