BANGKOK: -- Deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Jaktip Chaichinda said today that investigation into the two bombing incidents is progressing with now the police are questioning several people who were implicated.

He also said the arrested bomb suspect is not the man in yellow shirt who was seen in the CCTV video footage planting the bomb at the Erawan shrine.

But he is a member of the group responsible for the two bombing incidents which now are found to be relevant.

He said interrogation of the arrested suspect still could not yet established his nationality although he carried a fake Turkish passport.

Pol Gen Jaktip also disclosed that a Thai woman wanted for involvement in the bombings has contacted the Thai police and denied having any connection.

The woman identified as Wanna Suansant, 26, was said to be living in Turkey. She is a native of Phang-nga province in southern Thailand.

Police said she had rented an apartment in Min Buri district in northeastern Bangkok, where bomb-making materials were found.

According to AFP, Wanna or Maisa Loh said she was living with her husband in the town of Kayseri in Turkey and was shocked to learn she was wanted in Thailand as a bomb suspect.

She said she was horrified when friends in Thailand told her that a photograph from her identity card had been circulated to the Thai public.

She said she had not been to that apartment for almost one year now and she rented it but her husband’s friend stayed.

She said she has been in Turkey for around three months.

She also said Thai police had called her on Monday and asked her “not to worry” and to stay in contact with them.

When AFP called her back later she said she could not speak further since Thai police had warned her not to talk to the media.

What a clusterfrig, it really is no surprise that in most serious cases a scapegoat without the means to be vocal is quickly found. Just imagine this police dog and pony show playing out on a daily basis if they actually tried to solve crimes, no thanks.

If she knows nothing about this cell and she rented the appartment at the request of her husband to accomodate some of his friends when they vist then that is actually quite believable, the problem now for her is that she could be in danger and would be well advised to return to Thailand asap

Didn't they already pay the reward to the police?

NEWS FLASH! Landlord now seeking revenge attacks for non payment of reward money due! General public now withholding all important information. Police now having to rely solely on broken cameras, untrained forensic crews, substandard uncalibrated equipment, Fortune tellers and pure speculation.

She said she has been in Turkey for around three months.

Immigration photo shows her, her husband and child leaving Thailand July 1st. That's two months. If she would lie about that she would also lie about the apartment.
