kohorca
Hi all, I am planning to drive to Penang from sud Thailand with my wife registered car. The car is fully registered ( white plate ) The car is still on loan ( copy of the book but so not the original). I am actually on an 30 days entry ( visa exemption) after multiple visa and few extensions. Do you think I will be able to go through the both border, alone, without problems ( Assuming that we do understand about the malay insurance, the translation of the plate with the sticker thing etc etc). Or the presence of my wife will be highly recommended ? Thanks and respect for already all the help than Thai visa did for us about the informations that we was able to find during all the last years ( As we was readers only krub ). p.s : Living in Satun, Penang is just a few hours by car...... Time Traveller
Firstly, you need a car passport. Secondly, you will not get a car passport if you don't have the car's actual blue book because there is a lien outstanding on the car. Walter Travolta
I wasn't aware that you could leave LOS and re-enter on a visa exempt? Learn something new everyday
Soutpeel
If there is a bank loan still on the car your not going over any international border in that car think about it

No car passport is needed but a special letter from LTD is needed. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/800737-driving-in-malaysia-with-thai-registered-car/
