And said nowhere was it mentioned that a third party could collect only take down. So just trying to help. Perhaps saving an elderly or I'll person having to travel Link to comment
pontious
Was it ever in question that a 3rd party couldnt act on the applicants behalf ? Yes because it clearly states on the GOV UK website ' you must collect it in person'. It does not say we would like you if at all possible to collect it in person it says you 'must.' From CG's reply on the other thread it is clear you can nominate a third person to apply and collect. You should not have to be a member of an expat forum to know the rules. They should publish what the rules are. Link to comment

Fact is though, you have always been able to nominate a 3rd person to collect a PP for you even when they were issued by your local BE or consulate, all it ever took was a letter from the applicant stating "person XYZ, with the following "identity document" is authorised to pick up PP for person 123..." This has been common knowlege as long as i can remember Link to comment

If you’re unable to, someone else can go on your behalf. That said, this is what they say about collection! Getting your passportYour passport will be delivered to the UK Visa Application Centre where you applied - you must collect it in person. It simply became accepted practice for a nominated person to collect. This is an extract from the email from HMPO:- Please note the following details: a.
