Maybe its 3BB but maybe not, this is the problem

When I dont use my VPN (Virtual private network) I cannot get any Youtube video.

Now is this becasue those in Authoritys are doing something to block Youtube?

If I use my VPN no problem I can get all the Youtube vids

Maybe someone can explain what is going on?

Just lately my internet connection is very bad, previously no problems at all

I use 30mb fibre and have had no problem with 3BB for 3+ years but just recently it is painfully slow.

I have read all the stuff about the single gateway etc and also wondered if they we up to something.

A mate of mine reckons it is not that but rather that 3BB have now over sold the 30mb connection so it is effectively over capacity, as they want to try and push users up to the 50mb package which is 2500 THB per month.

I'm a relatively new 3BB subscriber, just glad to finally be rid of TOT. I'm in Issan, so choices are limited.

I don't have problems with youtube, but a friend does. He just switched as well.

I wanted the 15mb service, but they couldn't get that to work, so I had to settle for 10mb. When I do speed tests, I sometimes get over 10, usually 7 to 9 & sometimes as slow as 2.

I do have a problem with USTVnow dot com. I can watch it in the morning, but early PM & later, it constantly buffers.

My line is paired copper...no fiber here, maybe someday.

Do you use special settings for DNS? (like Google DNS)

What is the result if you do a ping and a traceroute to youtube,com?

youtube works excellent (ToT fibre).

Not my favourite artist, but a good reference picture/audio quality. Picture good not only technical

If I (auto)select 1080 p (full HD) the buffer is well ahead (about 1 min) of the actual playing time.

Using 3BB in Pattaya. YouTube videos work fine for me.

Been having trouble with 3BB in Pattaya for the last week.. Connection lost many times. I have 3Mb/s and when I did a speed test I got 2.5Mb/s all the way to 9.8Mb/s . Don't know what is going on.

Experiencing also a lot of trouble with 3BB VDSL 30MB the last few days in Pattaya.

Worst in the evening hours.

Sites heavily relying on cookies and Google measuring nearly inaccessible .

Speed tests with OKLA show sufficient speed within Thailand , but testing with European servers, not only the ping times increase to 330 ms, but speed decreasing for downloads to something around 1 meg and upload to 100 k and huge loss.

My TOT wifi is not working also here in Isaan.. Should be Getting 10 meg but getting 1.. I'm not the only one with this problem here aswell.. Is it a Government thing

Again, I haven't encountered sites being blocked. A dictatorship because you're having problems with Google or whatever else it is you're doing??

I have had 3BB since July and we live out in the sticks in Isaan, 15kms from nearest town.

Never a problem with youtube; often the wife is watching Youtube on her iPad and I watch internet TV on mine and never have buffering.

Just done a speed test and got 29.7 Mbps download and 4.19Mbps upload, good service I would say.

OP, you are in Naklua, right? Know of anyone else in your area with the same problem? I'm on the darkside, and went through a few problems before. The 3bb techs told me part of the problem was the telephone connecting cord from the jack to the router and on to the PC. He said the one I was using was cheap and nasty. So I changed the cord, getting one that had 4 copper pins in the plug, not two. All is now well.

The cords are available in Homeworks, probably many other places.

Have had the basic 5Mbps 3bb package in Korat for 8 years and never had a problem with Youtube.

These ideas are left over from the nanny states,blame the government for ever thing,including your own failings.

My 3bb is certainly worse the past 1 or 2 months than it's ever been in the past 3 years.

Slow page loading, like Netscape 1998 dial up slow. Drops every 5 minutes, but that seems to have stopped recently. Pages loading with incomplete or screwed up format. "Connection Reset while Loading" page notices so you hit the "Try Again" button once or twice and the page loads. ThaiVisa home page loaded today but the YT video box with Rod McNeil didn't, said a secure connection could not be established. Never saw that one before.

Had the lads out a couple weeks ago. Said everything was just fine, my router might be "expired" so I should go buy a new one.

Same with True. Started 4 days ago. I assume it's lack of capacity now that the high season has begun.
