Richard-BKK
In Thailand the wrecked bike market is a bit different than in most Western countries, not sure what the source is… maybe that the percentage of riders having Premium first-class insurance is very high. In Thailand most totally wrecked motorcycles end up as property of insurance companies, and when the amount of wrecked motorcycles is large enough those insurance companies invite motorcycle traders and repair companies to auctions (mostly once a year). It is extremely difficult to buy a wrecked motorcycle from a insurance company, even if the motorcycle was yours before….
papa al
So you could get a registered/invited agent to act/bid for you, maybe.
Richard-BKK
So you could get a registered/invited agent to act/bid for you, maybe. Sure, you could find somebody who bid/buys a specific motorcycle for you… Most of this auction have a few days when potential buyers can inspect the wrecks/motorcycles… so you can figure out what wreck is interesting enough to bid for... Richard-BKK
I think they use T-Cut then go for an MOT...but only if it a write-off He AllanB, Not 100% sure what you mean with T-Cut and MOT, if you mean they will cut the frame and weld it together with another frame which has other damage… I can tell only the shadiest company’s do that, in Thailand if the authorities find somebody like this the punishment is not in line with the risk… It is also difficult in Thailand because insurance companies are required to report the VIN numbers if a vehicle is totally wrecked… (Something to do with TAX back of payouts). So in modern Thailand if a totally wrecked VIN number resurface it will surely create some unneeded attention….
