NON O to Reteriment extension question

When I applied for the non O it had to be done with at least 14 days still available from my visa exempt expiry date

When I go from non o to retirement visa do I still need at least 14 days or can I go anytime before the non o expires?

Anytime before. I try to do mine 30 days before in case they want something I do not have.

When you apply for the extension of stay based on retirement you can apply anytime within the last 30 (45 at some offices) days of your current 90 day permit to stay.
