NLA representatives attended Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Iran

BANGKOK, 28 April 2016 (NNT) – A group of National Legislative Assembly members have travelled to Iran for the annual meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.

The delegation is led by NLA member Suwannee Siriwetchapan. This year’s APA meeting has been scheduled during April 26 and 27 and seen the participation of representatives from 12 countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Iran, Indonesia, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Thailand.

This year’s meeting agenda included the deliberation of nine drafts related to the resolutions on social and cultural affairs, which will be presented for the main assembly’s endorsement later in the year.

During the NLA’s visit, the Thai delegation also presented souvenirs to Mr. Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi Fard, the first deputy speaker of the Parliament of Iran who chaired the meeting.

What a pantheon of democratic bastions!

Bizarre at multiple levels.

will they be discussing human rights and anti terror issues?

Must have been one of the shortest meetings ever?

The "Five Rivers" plus (EC) love their overseas jaunts.
