MAE SOT:-- Drugs suppression authorities in the north west of Thailand announced the arrest of four people in two separate busts.

One illegal immigrant was found to be in possession of a card authorizing him to work as a reporter on a police magazine, reports Daily News.

In the first a husband and wife team of importers were arrested - Apirot Khiripongsakorn, 42, was caught in a sting at the border while his wife Nan Tee Fong,40, a Burmese national was arrested at the Tesco Lotus in the town. Thirty kilos of ice amphetamine was taken in as evidence while they were charged with importing class one drugs with intent to sell.

in a second case a Burmese and an illegal Rohingya were arrested along with 10,000 Ya Ba tablets. In another sting Muhammad Yamin, 39, a Burmese, and Suayyis Singsongmuang, a Rohingya illegally in Thailand were apprehended at a PTT gas station coffee shop in Mae Sot.

They said they were drug mules paid 5,000 baht for transporting the Ya Ba. Police discovered that the Rohingya had made drug runs many times to the United States. Furthermore he was found to be in possession of a genuine Police Magazine reporter card that he said he showed when asked for ID.

Both were charged with possession of class one drugs with intent to sell. Suayyis was also charged with being in Thailand illegally.

Well done! Great police photo op. 15 of them that I can see made into this shot. And many more seem to be lurking in the background hoping to grab some attention and career publicity.

Once again just the mules busted, never the dealers, and good publicity for the RTP... I wonder what the police do with drugs? Do the drugs mysteriously disappear from the evidence lock up at a later date ..whistling.gif TIT...

The cyanide pill should be offered to each

individual as soon as the press conference

is over,

thanks for being a human for a while ,

now you forfeit your life ,

good bye.

the only trouble with this is , some one always ready to

run the same gauntlet, as it won't happen to them,

costs go up to do the run , product price goes up to cover the cost increase,

or gets cut down with crap to make the short fall up,

such a human despicable cycle , that current methods of law

and societies thinking have no chance of elimination of this scourge,

that continues all over the world.

A decision made by these 4 for a pittance ,

now removed from free society,

we also move on as will the police,

but the problem still remains.

it seems that no one answer is the correct one,

there will aways be GREED

Everyday the Thai police are dealing with foreign criminals, drug dealers, murderers, fraudsters, and idiots on the roads and starting brawls. Cleaning up splattered bodies of people jumping out of condos, dragging drowned foreigners out of the sea and picking out body parts out of rivers. The Erawan shrine bombings another recent example.

But most of the Thais don't generalize against all foreigners, take us each on our merits and are very friendly to us.

Lovely people these Thais.

When will they go for the kingpins? Oh yes I forgot : each time they had some of them, they "escaped"...

And the Police has really nothing to do with drug traffinking, right,... right...?

Is that Northeast or Northwest?

Mae Sot area on Myanmar border is Northwest.

No I don't like that. My way is far better. When caught as in this case each of the people caught should be made to use their proportion of the drugs on themselves. If they survive the night they should be released, no charges. In this case the drugs would be split equally into 4 parts. Each of mules would have to use their portion i.e 7.5 kg each
