ActiveZeus
Hi, I will be visiting Thailand end of this month. Among the places that I will be spending a few days in, are Bkk and Chiang Mai. I am checking out hotels online for these two places but am confused on where to stay. I want to stay in an area close to the toursit spots, night markets, nightlife and restaurants. For example, should I choose the Phra Athit area or Suk or Silom in Bkk? Do you have any suggestions on which area to stay in these two cities? Cheers! londonthai
phra athit is my bangkok's favourite street - there are several good and cheap guest houses, it's close to the river express and the river - so cleaner and cooler air. a lot of tourist attractions is within a walk or a short bus or boat ride - and it's close to Thonburi with all it's canals
my friend I
In Chiang Mai the Tapae Gate area would suit what you are looking for. Inside the moat is less hectic than along Tapae road. A bit of a way from the gate but very nice is Tamarind Village
