BANGKOK:-- An advisor at the site office of a big building project in Lat Krabang was bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat in his office Thursday morning.

A fellow worker found 66 year old Wirachart Olaphiriyakun in a pool of blood beside his desk. The dead man was a former deputy governor of the metropolitan water board who was acting as an engineering advisor at the building site of a resort project. He was also a major shareholder in the project, reported Daily News.

Police and medics attending the scene found Wirachart in a container that had been converted into a site office. He had been hit over the back of the head. The office is on a 20 rai plot of land being prepared for construction by a company involved in building hotels, resorts and condominiums.

A fellow worker said that Wirachart had asked him to pop in to repair a computer. He was not free so he came back at 9.30am and found the door to the office locked. He used the spare key to gain entry and found the grisly scene and alerted authorities.

Police do not know if there was one or more assailants and will study CCTV in the area to get a trail. No reason for the murder has yet been established.
