Police visit vocational school to prevent student disputes

BANGKOK, 15 July 2016 (NNT)-Metro police, soldiers and city rangers have been inspecting vocational schools on the look out for illegal items and weapons among students in a bid to prevent student assaults on each other.

Deputy Metro Police Major General Sompong Chingduang authorized a group of police officers, soldiers and city rangers to visit Santirat Wittayalai School, among other places, yesterday. In their inspection, they found no illegal items or drugs on the school campus.

It is also a Royal Thai Police policy to have authorities visit schools on a weekly basis to ensure students don't start a fight. The Deputy Metro Police said the inspections have helped raise confidence among parents. He also expressed his gratitude to the school director who allowed the authorities to visit the school.

Is it a new Royal Thai Police policy? Because, if not, it's been failing miserably.

I don't suppose they've figured out yet that weapons may be hidden in locations outside of and away from the schools ?
