Mosha
OK I searched for a topic, I found one but the posts are not showing just the names. We have 6 chickens, but her indoors wants to up production. So now I need to know the egg specs please. Most of the ones we get are around 60 to 65 grams.Sent from my SMART_4G_Speedy_5inch using Tapatalk
Speedo1968
You say "wants to up production" but then go on to talk about egg weights ! What are you interested in, egg numbers, egg weights or both ? Is your intention to eat more eggs or to sell ? What type of bird do you have now ? If for home enjoyment ( eating that is ) then ducks eggs are better, but there are down sides.
ClutchClark
I prefer the taste of duck eggs myself and they are typically larger in size.

From what I remember they are graded by weight, which is why I mentioned the weight of 1 egg. I did weigh a bought grade 2 which was about what we are currently getting, they've just started laying. She wants to sell what we don't eat. They look like Rhodes, they are what was provided in the government village handout.Sent from my SMART_4G_Speedy_5inch using Tapatalk

Eggs in the local markets appear to be based on that. Even if the boss can't find any more hens. I won't go back to shop bought eggs. What we are getting taste great.Sent from my SMART_4G_Speedy_5inch using Tapatalk
