PRACHINBURI: -- Five soldiers from the Jakrapong Camp in Prachinburi are in hospital after their car hit a central reservation tree near the camp.

Sanga Theppakorn was driving four colleagues to help out at the funeral of a friend's father in Phitsanulok.

The driver lost control when a tire hit the kerb and exploded. The accident occurred in a winding section of the road near the Jakrapong Camp in Dong Phraram sub-district.

One victim was taken back to the camp hospital and the other four were treated in emergency elsewhere.

you just can't get good quality tires these days. If the tire had not exploded the driver would probably have kept control.

And if the driver hadn't hit the curb the tyre would not have burst....

So, he must have lost control before. A tyre doesn't hit the curb by itself.

Driver error again. Incompetent or drunk?

Just a few feet of drift can happen to anyone.    Hitting a tree sideways even at low speed is dangerous and will cave car in like this me thinks.     Hope all recover 100%.

Is a drug test standard in all accidents like this?   Hope the uniforms don't change the protocol?
