Hi, as the title says my job has recently ended and I am hoping there may be some options available to me to be able to stay in Thailand until mid April.

Although my employment has already ended my previous employer has not yet cancelled my work permit and it is possible that they may agree not to do so before my current extension of stay expires on 27th of February. If that is the case would I be able to leave the country via Suvarnabhumi airport on say the 26th Feb to return on the 28th and get a 30 day visa waiver and then pay to get it extended by a further 30 days?

Or if my work permit were allowed to stay valid until 27th Feb would it be possible to leave before this date and get a stamp that would allow me to stay for 90 days even though the current extension of stay would expire and the work permit would be cancelled during those 90 days?

Or should my work permit be cancelled imminently would their be any other options available to stay until mid April?

I have tried looking through previous posts but don't yet seem able to find anything specific to my situation.

You could do that unless your were given a termination letter prior to the date your extension ends. Your work permit doe not allow you stay in the country you extension does that.

You could go out for a single entry tourist visa that would allow a 60 day entry that could be extended for 30 days.

So am I right in thinking that any termination letter, not that I've received one, would then invalidate the date that my current extension of stay expires?

Any idea of favoured countries/cities to get a 60 day tourist visa and also what requirements there such as documention? Would I also need proof of booked travel out of Thailand again for the tourist visa?
