Is there a daily fine at immigration or grace period

Featured Replies

A quick question... I've had my work permit done. My ext of stay expires tomorrow. My work have everything ready to go to immigration to get it extended for 1 more year. However, a new teacher started and they just asked if I can wait until next week- so that they can do both of us at the same time.

Is there a daily fine for being late? If so, how much?

Or is there a grace period?

thanks

After your extension expires you are on a overstay and will be fined 500 baht a day.

Immigration could refuse to do your extension with a 5 day overstay. You need to get done tomorrow.

Surley if your extension of stay expires tm and you dont get it renewed you are in fact on overstay illegally in the country therefore WP is invalid?

Tell the school it is not lawful for them to ask you to break Immigration laws and get their arse in gear.

Go to immigration and get another extension?

As said you need to get it done today or be on overstay at 500 Baht a day and risk not getting your extension at all.

Don't rely on the school. Do it yourself.

Ultimately it is your responsibility as it's your passport. Your school is asking you to break the law because they are too lazy to go to immigration twice in one week. I would reconsider working for such a company. They need to realise how important visas are...
