THE Khon Kaen Court rejected a bail request on Monday from a female suspect in the much-publicised murder case.

Jidarat Prombut, who has been in detention since last month due to her alleged role in the crime, was still behind bars as of press time. Over the past week, her elder sister has been trying hard to prove her claim that Jidarat did not take part in the murder or dismemberment of Warisara Klinjui.

Jidarat was the first person arrested in connection with the crime, after allegedly selling Warisara’s cell-phone.

Four other suspects are been arrested for the brutal crime and have already made confessions, police say.

Jidarat’s sister went to the Justice Ministry on Monday to hand over pieces of evidence to back her claim of innocence.

“I have handed over Jidarat’s cell phone to the Justice Ministry along with recordings from CCTV cameras that can show Jidarat was not at the crime scene when the alleged crimes took place,” her sister said.

She said Grab taxi records could also prove that Jidarat was in Bangkok when the crimes took place in the Northeast province.

The sister said Jidarat’s recorded chats were also normal conversations, without any mention of the crime.

She said that Priyanuch Nonwangchai, the prime suspect in the case, had confirmed that Jidarat did not take part in the killing.

The Justice Ministry has said it will verify evidence before taking any action.

In a related development, Warisara’s mother Sairung Klinjui lodged a defamation complaint against Priyanuch’s elder sister Prapasiri Somsri on Monday.

Sairung said Prapasiri defamed her by suggesting that she tried to reap benefits from her daughter’s death.

Prapasiri criticised Sairung for filing a Bt10-million lawsuit against her for telling suggesting that Warisara may have gone out with rich men for money.

If she wasn't involved in the crime what exactly was her role in that pathetic re enactment then I wonder..

If all she is involved in is keeping very bad company, then i do feel bad for her.. Obviously she has done some ill deeds since knowing of the killing, but if evidence can prove she was elsewhere she should get some leniency.

Certainly worked when Nomsod re Koh Tao murders wheeled the obviously bogus condo cctv footage out.. More double standards maybe ?

using grab a car or grab a taxi... any subject can prove that such time of such day was within  certain geographical areas.

another more then valid motive to prefer Grab Car or Grab Taxi and don't use regular taxi.

Such a high profile case the courts are going to be slow and deliberate before granting anyone bail. Good for the sister doing the leg work to prove innocence. Sounds like the sister is intelligent, caring and resourceful. We would all be lucky to have a family member like the sister if we got involved in a horrific mess with alleged "friends."

Where I come from, being associated with friends, while they are committing a murder, makes you complicit in the crime. If she was truly innocent, she would have gotten an idea of what they were up to, and ran for the hills. That is what I would have done. That is more than likely what you would have done. So, why didn't she walk away? She watched her friends kill someone, then she hung around while they were dismembering this victim, and she is innocent? Sorry, this just does not add up. She was either incredibly dumb, ignorant beyond the stretches of one's imagination, lacked no will power, or was involved. Regardless, lock her up please.
