BANGKOK, 23rd June 2017, (NNT) - The center for suppressing auto crime of Provincial Police Region 4 has recently confiscated 16 reassembled stolen cars worth more than 8 million baht.

The Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 4 made the announcement today, saying that the stolen vehicles shared certain characteristics leading police to believe that the vehicles had been taken by the same group of car thieves. According to the officials, perpetrators tricked car dealers into lending them cars for test drives, before taking off and never returning.

Authorities disclosed that these cars were mostly used as payments for casino debts, or were sold at much cheaper prices than normal. The police noticed that the grand theft auto gang also swapped license plates masking the illegal nature of the vehicles

The police warned residents who are interested in second hand cars to meticulously verify the vehicles with the Department of Land Transport before making a purchase, in order to avoid being a victim of chop shop gangs.

A better advise would have been: wait until we cleared Pattaya of all hookers then there will be more legally purchased used cars for sale than you can imagine.
