The Skipper
May depend on where you are going and what side of the street you hail the taxi. For example. Hail a Taxi at Suk Nana4 and ask to go to Suk Nana3. With all the one way roads, it takes a long time to get there. Sometimes there is a traffic jam and sometimes they jerk you around for the fun of it. Who knows?

Mighty Mouse
Make sure that you have a double serving of baked beans for breakfast before hailing a taxi. Allow your wind to escape in his taxi and it will be in his best interests to get you to your destination via the shortest possible route.

Even worth it to walk a block or two sometimes to get to a better starting point. Speak Thai...or try anyway...goes a long way.
