webfact
Video: Brave cops draw praise after shots fired in high speed chase in Bangkok Picture: TNews BANGKOK: -- A video taken from the helmet cam of a cop just out of academy training shows a dramatic chase through the streets of Bangkok on Wednesday night. The chase in which a shot or shots were fired from a .38 gun ended in the dramatic arrest of driver Pathomphong Khiawphungphuang, 34. He had failed to stop at a checkpoint set up outside the Charoensap housing estate so was chased by the two officers on the bike. Driving and filming was Attaphon Saensabai who has just left the Khao Noi police academy in Chonburi to join the Bangkok force. His sideman was superior officer Konchanat Morphimai. A .38 gun was recovered from the car and ballistics tests were being carried out yesterday. The video reveals the new officer repeatedly saying that they had been shot at before the driver is ordered out of his car at police gunpoint. He had thrust his hands out of the driver's window in surrender then was cuffed on the tarmac as members of the public looked on. Their boss Wirut Pornphiphat praised the bravery of his officers. He said that the checkpoint had been set up for good reason as there had been a lot of car and motorbike thefts in the area as well as snatches of gold jewelry. Though it said 2016 on the video it was in fact this week, Thaivisa notes. Source: TNews -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2017-06-

observer90210
This Thai Police officer is new..still brave, honest and did a good job!!....just hope for him that the very, very, very rare and few corrupt officers of the force do not spoil such policing talent and do not make him corrupt or lazy...The Police need more boys like this one! Full congrats and respect to the young officer for the risks and for doing a good job. Wish him a long, successful, safe and honest career!! Prbkk
Innocent bystanders end up dead when these crazy police chases go wrong. This one was a success, fortunately.
