InMyShadow
That used to be the case from my own experience but that has changed and my card is now usable on all ATMs
tolsti
Yes, you can.... if it is not your home area then there will be small charges. Even if it is, some will still charge.

Info online is scarce. You've probably arrived on Samui by now and found out the answer is yes: As posted here... they all provide the service: https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/998616-whats-the-right-boat-to-get/
Sydebolle
1) you can use any ATM machine, the withdrawal costs might differ 2) the only BKK Bank ATM in Don Sak is at GPS: 9.320452, 99.735919 3) you might want to withdraw money on Samui island with more choices: 3.1) GPS: 9.538080, 99.935872, just when you get off the ferry at the Nathon pier turn left into Road 4169, less than 400 metres Good luck ;-)

observer90210
I may be a bit of a coward, but I tend to flee the ATM machines in Thailand like the plague!!....To many issues of skimming, hidden fees etc...and such issues also occur in many western nations so called safe havens like Switzerland or Monaco. I prefer to bring enough cash from Europe for the duration of the sojourn, deposit it once arrived, and withdraw at the counter... Of course the ATM's have no issues, other then some "misunderstandings", but why take the chance. IMHO.
