ISRAEL ATTACKS IRAN!

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — President Donald Trump has appealed to the Iranian people to “take over your government” after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran.

He said: “It will be yours to take.”

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. and Israel launched an attack Saturday on Iran, with the first apparent strike happening near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iranian media reported strikes nationwide, and smoke could be seen rising from the capital.

President Donald Trump said in a video posted on social media that the U.S. had begun “major combat operations in Iran.” He claimed Iran has continued to develop its nuclear program and plans to develop missiles to reach U.S.

It also wasn’t immediately clear whether the 86-year-old Khamenei was in his offices at the time. He hasn’t been seen publicly in days as tensions with the United States have grown. The attack comes as the United States has assembled a vast fleet of fighter jets and warships in the region to try to pressure Iran into a deal over its nuclear program.

Roads to Khamenei’s compound in downtown Tehran had been shut down by authorities as other blasts rang out across the capital. Neighboring Iraq closed its airspace, according to the Ministry of Transport.

Unfortunately this meme hits the nail on the head regarding the hypocrisy of the West's views on war.

War for the West - Preemptive freedom strikes of peace
War for everyone else - Illegal unprovoked full-scale invasion

You can't have it both ways. Post WWII, all "wars of aggression" are deemed illegal. ALL WARS. Whether stated by the West or the East.

Just to jog the MAGA crowd's memory, this was Trump on Biden prior to the 2024 election. Many who supported Trump supported him based on his campaign promise not to engage in wars of conquest, yet? Here we are. The Republicans are going to get hammered in 2026 and 2028 when Trump loses half his base.

Nothing wrong with supporting allies, like Hezbollah, the US does it with it's allies.

Terrorism is the wrong word, its freedom fighters, fighting against the evil Israel. Do you think the countries Israel blockades, annexes, genocides, should not fight back?

They have not just attacked Israel. Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq have seen terrorist attacks by Iran sponsored groups. Freedom fighters? Not freedom from Iran, that's for sure. Plus, some of these terrorist cells are active in Europe and to some extent, the U.S.

I notice you haven't replied, not shown any regret to the 100 schoolgirls killed in this unlawful attack. Any thing to say about that?

You ever been there ? I have, when they had our hostages in 1980.

Iran doesn't have the ability to do that in any world. 🤣. just wow

Iran will not be in control of their own oil for quite awhile I'd imagine

yes matter of fact i have been to iran back in the days of the shah who as i understand the usa basically installed...that did not work out very well....i do not know if or when if ever iran can block the strait but it is in their territory and i would bet it is being considered. Iran did somehow manage to already hit a few targets further than the straits which i would think were well protected. Once again USA goes into a very dangerous conflict with no clearly stated exit plan other than "we hope it will all work out" with no congressional approval in direct violation of the US constitution. Seems it is much easier to get into wars than to get out of them.

It remains to be seen how much of Iran's military capability is left after the strikes. U.S.forces will most likely remain on station to do "mop up" action and defend our bases.

one prediction:

Iran will certainly shut down the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important oil chokepoint that facilitates the passage of 20 percent of the world’s oil supply.

This will double or triple the price of oil and devastate the global economy. It will target oil installations along with U.S. ships and military bases in the region.

Trump has said the U.S. will continue attacking targets for at least a week, or longer.

I don't recall anyone asking me about this incident. Horrendous, if true. And isn't this just as bad or worse as all the other atrocities committed by Hamas and other Iranian proxies.

Utter madness. A war of choice. Iran is a bad actor for sure, but they were of no threat. The real question now is what is the end game and have Trump and his moronic minions thought this through sufficiently? I don't think so.

America has a long habit of getting involved in conflicts that are not winnable, and very few wars that are fought strictly from the air have ever resulted in a positive outcome. If the Ayatollah is indeed dead many of us will celebrate that there's no question that he was pure evil. But the apparatus seems to be in place to replace him fairly easily and the transition to a democratic state would be a long and arduous process.

The world has watched the War President launch military operations in Iran, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Iraq and Syria; capture and remove Venezuela’s leader, Nicolás Maduro, from power; threaten to use military force to take control of Greenland; pressure Mexico to allow U.S. troops in the country to target fentanyl labs; and direct an air campaign to kill suspected drug smugglers at sea.

Trump is an unhinged maniac who does not seem to be answering to any law at this point. He did not make a case of the American people which he very easily could have during the State of the Union address. He appears to have sleepwalked into yet another perilous folly in the Middle East. It appears he has not thought through the substantial risks and uncertain gains.

Air wars alone have a poor record of overthrowing leaders: The United States under Presidents Joe Biden and Trump spent more than $7 billion bombing Yemen and couldn’t dislodge even the weak, unpopular and poorly armed Houthis. In the past the illusion of an easy military answer has repeatedly caused tragedy for ourselves as well as for others.

Trump created a nuclear crisis with Iran in part by tearing up the imperfect nuclear accord that President Barack Obama had reached with the ayatollahs; if we had remained in the deal, it seems to me we would be in a safer place today — and at peace.

I am hoping against hope that this conflict ends quickly but I suspect that this could drag on for years and it's very possible the US has gotten itself into a conflict that could cause itself economic ruin, without a conclusive and positive outcome.

RTSCWQZ-1024x683.jpg

The USA has no interest to win those wars in the Mideast. It is about destroying those countries and never allow them to become prosperous. And then you have all the contracts to rebuild those countries that go to who? It is all done to benefit Israel. The American foreign policy is run by Israel. Israel needs terrorism to be able to expand its territories and exterminate the Amalek.

Looks like that Chinese anti-stealth radar delivered to Iran over the past several months failed and the US went through it with ease. Lesson #1 from this war is already clear: China exaggerates the effect of its weaponry and the countries who buy from them (hey Thailand) are getting the short end of the stick. https://www.globaldefensecorp.com/2026/03/01/u-s-navys-ea-18g-growler-destroyed-chinese-made-ylc-8b-anti-stealth-radar-and-type-305a-radar-in-iran/

I was asking about the straits, they've tried twice in my life to close it that I know of and failed. They have very little left of their Navy
Also of note, it also belongs to Oman, they claim it 50/50

Trump doesn't have to tell congress before, he has 48hrs to inform them and 90 day to do what he needs to do. Clinton and Obumer used it many times and nobody had an issue
Heres some reading for you,

The War Powers Resolution of 1973 (or Act) is a federal law intended to check the U.S. President's power to commit armed forces to conflict without Congressional consent. Passed over President Nixon's veto on Nov. 7, 1973, it requires notifying Congress within 48 hours of deploying troops and mandates their removal within 60–90 days unless authorized

Somewhat inferior Chinese and Soviet radars, some of which also promised anti-stealth, already demonstrated their failure in Venezuela. What Iran had is supposed to be the latest version, and it was wiped out on the ground. Frankly, I didn't know what to expect. But clearly some people on this forum were virtually masturbating over the prospect that this latest Chinese radar would blow the US out of the skies. In fact, the reverse happened. This means, of course, that any future action China takes in East Asia against the Philippines, Japan, or Taiwan will be subject to the same stealthy retaliation. A very bad day for China and the mullahs.

More than 100 children in Iran have been killed by US and Israeli air strikes on a school, according to Iranian authorities. Vision has emerged of crowds of people searching through the rubble of a girls' elementary school in the city of Minab in southern Iran.

Everyone around the world will celebrate the death of this man who was pure darkness and had nothing but bad intentions. This pathetic man did not have a spiritual bone in his entire decrepit body. What will happen at this point is the big question, nobody knows. But regime change in Iran will be an extremely complicated thing, and it's likely way over the head of a dunce like Trump, and as usual he's being very poorly advised by truly inferior minds.

The US failed in Libya, the US failed in Egypt, the US failed in Algeria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and their record of success since World War II has been abysmal. They may have very powerful Armed Forces, but power without intelligence is a pathetic thing to witness.

I AM THE CAPTAIN OF PEACE

Just a disgusting liar and criminal.

Yes, this is tragic, just as is the thousands of Iranian protesters killed by government forces.

War is hell, especially when innocent lives are lost.

So it would be better for the Chinese to arm Iran with more long-range missiles so they can continue to threaten everyone within striking distance? This was already in the works, but now probably off the table as Iran's military get pummeled. As I posted, war is hell, but at this point what are the alternatives? Negotiations were going nowhere. Besides, Iran cannot be trusted to keep their word.

I have no power to conspire with anyone. I am merely outlining some of the justifications for attacking Iran.

And this is not even considering Iran's nuclear ambitions. Again, war is hell.

Añd unlike Obama you can be sure Trump won't be releasing billions to Iran. And unlike Bush you can be sure Trump is not going to be there for 20 years of " nation building" eg. Building bridges and schools so they can promptly blown up. Yes they were idiots. But of course the real problem was all the saps voted them in twice.

That's not only a very cold but also an extremely uneducated thing to say, considering the fact that Iran probably produces fewer terrorists per capita then most other nations in the Middle East. You probably don't even know this, but Iranians are not even considered Arabs, and the vast majority of Iranian people are secular and very moderate. Many are well educated and absolutely despise the extremist regime.
