There are a few posters on the site who voraciously insert inline YouTube music video links to nearly all their topics here on AN, sometimes as many as three or four in a single post. I don't get it. I thought the point of the forum was to discuss topics?

If people really wanted to watch music videos, they would be on YouTube. In fact, there is always a running “If you are listening to music, What's Playing?” topic in the Entertainment section of this forum where you can post all the music videos you want, so why even bother posting them elsewhere? Within most topical threads, it takes up space and clutters up the posts.

So do you actually click and watch the music videos, read the post but ignore the video links, or skip the post once you see multiple music videos? Does context about why a video is worth watching make you more likely to click? Or do multiple videos make the post itself less appealing?

I very occasionally add a YouTube music video link to a post if I think it really fits the moment, but it is rare that I do and generally think it's pretty pointless and, frankly, a waste of everyone's time.

What do you do?

I never click links unless it is from a trusted source.

I always click on the links.

How, otherwise, could one copy the link to TV, and post it?

Nope.

Not just the music. I won't even look at the youtube/etc links some moron has posted of another moron who happens to have the same moronic view they do.
