Shock and Fury: NRA Defends Gun Rights After Minneapolis Shooting

A dramatic showdown is unfolding as the NRA demands President Trump's administration investigate the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a nurse from Minnesota. A border agent shot Pretti in Minneapolis, sparking outrage across the nation.

Conflicting stories are fueling the fire! The Trump administration claims Pretti was armed and dangerous, but no video shows him with a gun. The NRA slammed federal prosecutors for suggesting armed citizens risk being lawfully shot by officers.

The NRA, shockingly at odds with a Trump-aligned prosecutor, insists on patience. "Wait for the full investigation," they caution, condemning the demonization of gun owners. Bill Essayli's controversial social media comment only adds fuel to the flames: “Approach law enforcement with a gun, expect consequences!”

Gun rights advocates and politicians ignite the debate! Gun Owners of America defend the constitutional right to bear arms, while Republican Thomas Massie warns, “Carrying a firearm isn’t a death sentence!”

Essayli defends his comment, claiming context is everything. He insists he didn’t conflate lawful gun ownership with the threat posed by agitators refusing to disarm.

This marks the second Minneapolis shooting linked to ICE’s immigration crackdown this month. Bystander videos and conflicting government statements only intensify the drama. Homeland Security claims Pretti posed a threat, showcasing a gun allegedly his, igniting further skepticism.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s statements are causing uproar. She called the shots “defensive” while failing to clarify Pretti's alleged gun brandishing. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz blasted these claims as “nonsense,” and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey accused ICE of spinning the truth.

Key Takeaways:

  • NRA defends gun rights amidst controversial shooting.

  • Conflicting accounts fuel public outrage and debate.

  • Calls for a thorough investigation grow louder.

Nothing wrong with guns.

Until they fall into the hands of Antifa "have a go heroes".

Thank goodness he was prevented from killing innocents with more extreme leftist violence.

Always first out of the gate with some whacky libs owning malarkey. There are more ICE goons shootings than Antifa. Matter of fact, there is no Antifa charged for shooting although the Texas prosecutors trying hard to create Antifa as a criminal enterprise for Trump adminstration to go after their political opponents.

Yes, everyone knows that liberals are really revolutionary communists. Revolutionary communists think nothing of shooting others, therefore if you get rid of liberals then there would be no gun crime in the US. It's simple when you think about it😉🤦

ICE has undergone a 120% increase in manpower from 10,000 to 22,000 officers in 4 months.

Training has been shortened from 6 months to 6 weeks for Enforcement and Removal Officers.

What could possibly go wrong?

Rare for the NRA to criticise the government but they are clearly worried that carrying a gun is now a capital crime.

Where were they recruited from, prisons? Are they mercenaries? They seem to be acting like them, with no discipline.

The NRA is an incredibly toxic organization that is consistently on the wrong side of history. They are one of the reasons why the US murder rate remains so high and they have a lot of blood on their hands. It's very likely that without the NRA and their consistent lobbying efforts the number of mass shootings in the US would be considerably lower, and the US would not be number one. In mass murders throughout the world.

Americans are bloodthirsty and they adore their violence, America is a sick, demented society, and groups like the NRA simply reinforce that illness.

They may have been told to stand back and stand by several years ago?

Perhaps you would like to research the number of armed paramilitary training camps in the country?

Or perhaps the government may tell us if any pardoned Jan 6ers have been recruited into the ranks of ICE

I particularly like the rather poignant positioning of the two toy soldiers on the fireplace

Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people, and people with lots of guns kill..............lots of people?

A legit question for LE to ask him: why do you have so many guns, sir?

On the street/road:

"Why are you carrying a gun, sir?"

"I'm exercising my 2nd Amendment rights."

"And why are you doing so on this particular day?"

"ummmmm . . . ."

On the lighter side, in the movie "Richard Jewel" a guy was asked why he owned so many guns, he said "I'm from Georgia." (US)

The photo shows a typical mad man on an ego trip. At most he can only fire two guns at once So, whatever is the point of the others? Well over the top for a normally sane person.

Good point. With all those guns present it makes it easier for someone to pick one up and shoot him.

Personally I think the worst thing that can happen when carrying a weapon is it gets it away from you then used against you.

I don't know if this got news coverage outside of the US, but there was a big corruption scandal within the NRA in recent years. Looks like they healed somehow. When I was a boy the NRA was about giving firearm-safety workshops (mandatory in some states) and stuff like that, no partisanship. They sure generated a lot cash playing the lobbying game.

I just read an interesting theory. Remember groups like the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and such doing their marches? But it’s been eerily quiet on that front. So the assumption is that many of those goons joined ICE, hence no more nazi marches.

Ya gotta love it! Oh, the dilemma! If it's totally ok for armed rioters to break the law and interfer with government Capitol police, and storm the Capitol trying to overturn the government, then, of course, it must be totally ok for a nurse to stand on the sidewalk, gun holstered, and film with his phone. Grrrrrr! This is so hard!!! My empty, brain-washed brain is going to explode! I'm not used to having to think! Help!
