US Medicare - what do most expats do?
Giving false information if discovered WILL end the policy. But it's a big trend now in Mexico and Panama for expats with U.S. addresses on record with SS and Medicare (must be the same) to pose as part time expats and use Advantage for emergency coverage. It's no good for chronic illnesses. I don't endorse this. Just reporting about it. -

When I changed address, I was required to go back to the Amphoe that issued the original YB who cancelled that and gave me a form to take to the new Amphoe that immediately issued me a new YB and ID card. -

No. For Part B you don't have to be in the U.S. EVER. You can pay for it then. But you can't use it abroad. ENJOY! -

For proof, provide a list of your investment-valuations / account-totals as of Dec 31, 2023. Anything you bring in up to that limit, starting from Jan, 1 2024, until you have remitted all of that sum, is not taxable. Edit: unless they start taxing income not remitted.- 1

One need not go too far back in time to see mobs run wild in Canada. The last Vancouver riot cost approx. $10 million in direct damage and policing/judiciary costs. The mob beat several people bloody. 150+ people were hospitalized, some for lengthy periods with head injuries. 301 people arrested. The Vancouver riot prior to that featured mob fights. and similar brutal injuries. The G20 meetings in Toronto resulted in 100+ arrests, 40+ retail shops vandalized and looted. The police were accused of brutality and it cost $16 million+ to settle the claims. The Summit of the Americas protests in Quebec City featured 20,000 crazed idiots including the attempted use of a catapult to hurl objects at the police. And who can forget the infamous Shawinigan Handshake of former PM Chretien when he greeted a buffoon protester with a chokehold. The man complained that he lost his false teeth after being tossed aside by the street fighter kid from small town Quebec. -

U.S. Topic -- Clarification sought about starting Medicare Part B upon repatriation
Medicare advantage REPLACES B. As you're talking about initial signup at anytime when you turn 65, it make sense that during that exemption time period (open enrollment not needed) you could somehow enroll in Advantage at that time. I don't know how. But I didn't see that as your question. Your question seemed to be that you already signed up for A and B during initial exemption period and then wanted Advantage. People can only change programs during the open enrollment period unless under an exemption. -

Air conditioner is dripping water, is that normal?
If the unit is not on the ground there should be special pipe that connects to the condensation outlet and allows droplets to silently flow to the ground. In Thailand almost all ACs have it. In Russia almost none(illegally, owners don't care) and in multi-story buildings it creates hell in June-August, as water drips from 5 - 6 - 8 - 10 -12th floor down to the ground or into your balcony or window sill depending on the wind making loud thumps. I don't see that pipe on your photo. -

You really don’t understand the law or the detail if a gift contract, the contract makes the gift Sin Suan Tua which Is property acquired by either spouse during marriage through a will or gift, just voiding the contract doesn’t magically make it Sin Somros and the contract is a onetime thing so denying it after the fact has no meaning. It is not a continuing contract. If either party wants to void it then they just don’t sign it and nothing changes hands, no gift is given or received.
