I am continuing a topic from the Thai Language section (the arrow below links to it) as it is turning into a discussion of moderation policy. Someone, probably a Thai, had asked a question in Thai about European morals.

hopefully some others on this forum who are proficient in writing thai will reply to you.

Then not on Thaivisa at all! I quote from the forum rules:

7) English language is the only acceptable language on thaivisa.com, except of course in the Thai Language Forum where Thai is encouraged.

Is it possible to declare a policy allowing limited use of other languages? I remember an non-English-speaking Italian desperately seeking help. He was translating via Babelfish, which made his question unintelligible. He was asked to rephrase his question in his native tongue, and then some members were able to advise him in Italian.

I presume the language restriction is to make it much easier for moderators to moderate.
