I was recently told that a forum was held by an immigration service provider that immigration was toying with the idea expats will soon need one million  baht in the bank instead of the current 800000 rule. Is this just a silly rumor like so many. ?

I wonder how individual police feel about water cannons on citizens and quelling demonstrators ?  They of course must follow orders and keep any opinions to themselves. If things heat up and police are ordered to crack down heavily it will be interesting to see if any police refuse to attack fellow citizens or perhaps even join  the protesters. Even though unlikely the government will have lost to the protesters. They of course can call 'in the military which they will surely  do if things get out of hand. Lets hope some kind of accommodation to the protesters can be reached to avert any real trouble.

Someone should tell these clowns that farrang will chip their dog but never themselves or family. As nice as Thailand is it is not the be all the government thinks it is . Since the change of government it is clear to many long stayers they are not really wanted here as shown by the constant immigration rules and comments from some government ministers. A shame they have no good ideas that include treating foreigners with respect or show them the smiles that used to the norm. but no more. As for demanding millions in bank accounts and ideas about buying real estate in order to get a visa, They will never get tourists or long stay visitors with all the nonsense they come up with. Perhaps if they read what we all have say on Thai visa forums they would learn something

There are so many beautiful places in the world to visit what make these clowns think they are going to attract millions to Thailand with all this nonsense. The USA has more beautiful places than here with no restrictions by comparison. Same in Europe. Did The Prime minister get his beyond dumb idea of tracking bracelets passed? Many potential tourists will buy the video of their favorite destination and a case of fine wine to relax while watching it.

There are far too many nice places to go without being rich. These Thai tourism gurus seem to think Thailand is far superior to any where else in the world and nice as it is it not .People are not going to beg to come here and put up with all the stupid rules. All just lined up to come here. ? I don't think so.

Ban all farrang .That way they will never have to chase them around hoping they can nail them with breaking some stupid rule. Surprised they haven't been charged with espionage for photographing secret submarine routs.

A Lot easier to go somewhere else to spend my money. I am sure Thais are very proud of their country but it is not so special one has to crawl through miles of red tape to get here . It is a big world and these buffoons with all their rules and demands should have a good think about that.

Coming here to find everlasting love is like spending a fortune on losing lottery tickets. Good for the few that succeed in finding a good partner. A mate of mine was with her for 10 years. When her and the family were all fixed up she walked out and shacked up with her old high school sweetheart and was married a few weeks later. But blinded by balls in  your eyes can make you an easy target. 

Out of some 69 million only 26 people died? And yet  it panicked the government into destroying the tourist industry, ruining the economy . Putting millions out of work and having more suicide deaths from people in abject poverty in fear of  starving to death than the virus killed. As the numbers and information is finally coming out world wide it is becoming apparent the whole thing was blown way out of proportion to the problem leading many to now claim the whole thing was a ( is) a giant hoax. Brought about by anti capitalists and  trump haters hoping Trump will lose 20 20 because of the economy. We will soon see if it was a hoax or a well planned mission by some with grand ideas of a socialist take over. All in all cure seems to have been worse than the disease
