  1. Looking out of the window from my first-class front-row seat on the far-right

Discredited they only operate business class and economy on that route on the A330. smile.png

But hey don't let truth get in the way of getting big face in the media....These Thai "Superstars" need all the attention they can get...

  2. Have had kobe beef in Benihani restaraunt and its magnificent

Fat content is way to high in my opinion. Melts in the mouth yes because of the fat content. Makes me feel a bit queasy after a few pieces.

I believe Wagyu beef is the best beef in the world. I originates from Japan, often refered to it as "Kobe" beef. I have had the pleasure of tasting a Kobe beef in Osaka and it was the best beef ever! And by a large margin. It just melts in your mouth, wow!

Wagyu is not same as Kobe.

  3. I head about one that managed to get one from Amazon without paying tax but if they ship with FedEx you will pay the tax.

Paperwhite Kindle shipped from US using shipito.com via fedex last week. Duty and tax paid 280THB

    $40.00 for the fedex shipping.

A dam_n site cheaper than what some of the grey importer companies are charging here.

I am Amazon prime customer. Complained when it arrived about the special offers being a ridiculous idea. They removed the ad's with their complements no charge.

    Love Amazon customer service.

  4. If you get charged duty on a computer import you are being scammed. Simple as that. Protest and appeal - it will be made right if you use a company like DHL/FEDEX/UPS. Disputing with other non courier's may be difficult.

I have probably imported 10-12 laptops now and NOT ONCE have I been charged or attempted to be charged duty. Simply VAT on value+Shipping.

Using: TNT, Fedex or DHL 100%.

Secondly I would not feel happy shipping a $4000.00 laptop not using one of the above 3 or UPS.

If you have doubts call Fedex put through to clearance department and get them to confirm duty rates on your import. You can also speak to TH Customs direct or check their Tariff database.

Dell wont Ship to Thailand from the US or Aussie

    Shipito.com is your friend.

  5. That THB900 charge is remarkable. It's barely more than the expected 7% VAT, with no sign of the expected import tariff, which usually runs 30-40% of invoiced cost (including shipping). How was it shipped? USPS AIr Mail? Courier (UPS/FedEx/etc)?

7% Vat is normal for computers/tablets and notebooks. Its not a generic 30-40% on everything you import!

  6. As to regional J, I agree not up to some others standards but for example BKK-SIN no worse than SQ/CX, want to be crammed in like a sardine in J, try European Airlines.

Agreed just done a KLM trip...never again..

Their J was way average and the second sector european J was in a F70 say no more. (But they do block the middle seat..... ....)
