  1. Prices should be fixed for current apple products if they are an approved reseller, should be the same as the price shown on store.apple.com/th

There's a few ipad airs and iPhones for sale in thaivisa classifieds if you want it cheaper.

  2. The local store my give you the VAT refund paperwork but you must show the items to authorities at the airport to get the refund... I would note that where you have the authorities view the items is OUTSIDE luggage checkin!... So you could have someone come with you to the airport show the laptop and screen and return it home and you could go thru immigration and go to refund counter...

You can be asked again post immigration to show the item. Also what's the point of he above?

Just select education store online and u get savings equivalent of doing a vat refund.

  3. Yeh it's a million miles away, must be a huge 15 minute walk from soi 11 or 5 mins in a taxi... Would require substantial planning........

Decent buffet's around soi 4 and 11 are fairly hard to come by. JW Marriott is about he best, Landmark Average.

Glad to see you came up with some helpful suggestions. D*ck.

  4. "Most of what you say is mere opinion, but this statement is completely and utterly false. I fly business-class on TG all the time, and *every single time* I re-enter Thailand, I use my business-class boarding pass to go through Premium Lane fast-track immigration."

I am doing 6+ a month on international J on TG (because sometimes schedule wise I am forced to). And quite frankly if you rate TG J that well then your experience of the other carriers must be extremely limited.... Try SQ / CX / EK / QR products for 6 months then go back to TG. Difference is pure as silk.....

Secondly you have been lucky with your boarding card. See the little immigration desk at the right of premium lane section go ask the immigration official if you are allowed to use the premium lane with your j class boarding pass stub. No is the answer. Go ask TG customer service if you can use the premium lane same reply.

I have tried the premium lane scam as well and been knocked back by the official on several occasions depends who you get at the desk. HOWEVER The fact is it is no longer a OFFICIAL part of TG business class. However they haven't advertised the deterioration in product - as they THAI never do. They simply just stopped it without apology or reason or reduction in ticket price.

TG officially stopped issuing the fast track immigration cards about 18 months ago. You SHOULD have the yellow premium lane card these days...J class or not.

So what we're you saying "utterly false"..... Yeh mate your right...

  5. It always makes me laugh when people scream SCAM with either FEDEX,DHL,UPS.

It is usually by those people who do not understand how logistics or government customs operate (Ie duty rates, licence required imports, Band items).

Been using Fedex, DHL for 7 years never had a issue or had to dispute the charges as was well aware of the costs involved to the clearance department, customs and how the duty will be calculated and VAT.

Importing high value items to a country is not always going to be cheap. Its not like sending an item WITHIN the states or even the EU countries now. Have a think before you order anything and get it shipped to Thailand.

A lot of the times its cheaper or just as cheap to get a low cost carrier flight in the morning to HK and fly back in the evening with the item.....(For example APPLE products are the cheapest in the world in HK)

    some basics:

    1. you are paying the carrier not only for delivery but as your CLEARANCE AGENT which will incur a charge. You can elect to use your own clearance agent but will incur substantially more costs and time.

    2. Duty will be calculated as per Thai government duty % available on their website - Note the charge will be based on the ITEM itself, Value of Item AND shipping charge costs.

    3. VAT is payable.

    4. Vague, incomplete, wrongly declared value WILL cause a delay and require you to provide accurate paperwork. After which item will be released and delivered promptly with a appropriate charge.

    5. Customs have the right to decline import of ANY item they wish. They also have the right to REVALUE an item on inspection if your value is suspect.
